The Miguel Hernández University is able to participate in different types of competitions with the objective of promoting sports and sports activities, as well as competitive sports of the university teams.

The internal competitions are aimed at all members of the university community , the objective of which is to promote sports, participation in a climate of partnership and that facilitates interaction between students of different degrees.

Furthermore, the university compates both its own teams that compete from the rest of the universities of the Valencian Community to the Campionat Autonòmic d’Esport Universitari (CADU) . Therefore, the athletes must access through the selection procedures to the teams and represent the UMH in the CADU and CEU, and can obtain recognition of credits for their participation if they complete the requirements established by the OCSD. The Generalitat Valenciana,  sponsoring the call for subsidies aimed at promoting university sports and contributing to the organization of the Autonomous University Sports Camp of the Valencian Community (CADU), 2024-2025 season, has awarded the Miguel Hernández d’Elx University a subsidy of €25,607.00 .
