The Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche (UMH) has brought its participation in the Campeonatos de España Universitarios 2026 to a close with the rowing events, held last weekend in Seville, where its athletes delivered a highly competitive performance.
In the men’s double sculls event, Jaime Arenas and Nacho Ramón-Borja achieved a commendable fourth-place finish, narrowly missing out on the podium in one of the tightest finals of the championship. The UMH boat clocked a time of 3:11.81 in a race where there was barely a one-second difference between second and sixth place, reflecting the extremely high level of competition. The winners (University of Girona) finished with a time of 3:08.51, highlighting how competitive the final was and the strong performance delivered by the UMH pair.
Meanwhile, Laura also completed an excellent individual performance, finishing fifth in the B final, which placed her eleventh overall in the general standings. A very positive result in a highly demanding national-level competition.
With this final participation in rowing, UMH concludes its journey in the CEU 2026, closing an edition marked by strong results, medals, and standout performances across multiple disciplines, reaffirming the university’s commitment to high-level university sport.
