V-Running Circuit
Running or running is one of the most popular sports activities, with a notable increase in its practice due to public awareness of adopting a healthy lifestyle, where physical exercise plays a fundamental role together with adequate nutrition, rest and emotional well-being. It is an activity accessible to the entire population and at low cost, with sports being the most common among the physically active population.
With this Running circuit, the Miguel Hernández University of Elche offers its university community and the citizens of Elche a 2,395-meter route, allowing you to enjoy the Elche Campus of the UMH and promoting the university as one of the reference points for practice sports in the city.
Unlike other sports areas, the Variability Running circuit is characterized by the alternation of five different surfaces along its route: albero sand, fine gravel, rubber, artificial grass and concrete. This variability of surface causes in runners the need to adapt to the terrain, favoring the adaptability of their running motor pattern, rhythm and / or stride width by stimulating their neuromusculoskeletal system. All this entails a greater proprioceptive work and requirements to the muscular and osteoarticular system, making going through it also become a new and motivating practice.
With this initiative, the UMH is aligned with Sustainable Development Goal # 3 to promote the well-being and health of the university community and its environment.
