Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University of Elche (UMH), the Golf Federation of the Valencian Community (FGCV) and Elche Golf School have signed a collaboration agreement to promote golf participation, training and competition within the university community. The agreement will also foster research, innovation and the organisation of joint activities.<\/p>\n

The Healthy Campuses and Sports Office (OCSD) continues to expand its network of partnerships with sports organisations to encourage physical activity and healthy lifestyles. This new agreement is specifically focused on promoting golf within the university environment.<\/p>\n

The agreement was signed by Ra\u00fal Reina, UMH Delegate of the Rector for Healthy Campuses and Sports, and Juan Manuel Verd\u00fa Puch, Manager of the Golf Federation of the Valencian Community and Director of Elche Golf School. The signing ceremony was also attended by \u00c1lvaro Coves, Director of the Healthy Campuses and Sports Office, and Luisa Rodr\u00edguez, Sports Technician.<\/p>\n

The agreement establishes a framework for cooperation to develop initiatives related to the promotion of golf, beginner training, athlete development and competition, including the preparation of university athletes for the university sports championships in which UMH participates.<\/p>\n

In addition, the agreement includes the organisation of workshops, events and educational activities, as well as knowledge transfer initiatives aimed at both the university community and society as a whole. Thanks to this partnership, UMH students, academic staff (PDI) and technical, administrative and service staff (PTGAS) will benefit from a 10% discount on activities organised by Elche Golf School.<\/p>\n

The three institutions will also share the use of their sports facilities under preferential conditions for joint activities and will facilitate internships and other forms of applied learning for students from different academic programmes.<\/p>\n

The agreement also opens up new opportunities for collaborative research and innovation projects related to sports performance, health, sports management and the promotion of healthy lifestyles through the practice of golf.<\/p>\n

This initiative forms part of the strategy of UMH’s Office for Healthy Campuses and Sports to strengthen collaboration with leading sports federations and organisations, expanding opportunities for sports participation and education within the university community. Furthermore, the agreement contributes to the achievement of the United Nations 2030 Agenda Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality and Partnerships for the Goals.<\/p>\n
