Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University of Elche (UMH), in collaboration with the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, will host the exhibition \u201cCuando las Mujeres Ganamos, Ganamos Todo el Mundo\u201d, a travelling exhibition that brings together testimonies from various leading women in the field of sport. Through their stories of resilience and empowerment, the initiative aims to raise awareness and break down prejudices and stereotypes associated with the role of women in sport.<\/p>\n

The opening will take place on Monday, April 20 at 10:15 a.m. in the hall of the Arenals building. The event will be attended by the Rector\u2019s Delegate for Healthy Campuses and Sports, Ra\u00fal Reina; the Vice-Rector for Culture, Equality and Diversity, Susi Amor\u00f3s; the Councillor for Equality of Elche City Council, Caridad Mart\u00ednez; the Director of the UMH Equality Unit, Rosario Carmona; and Cristina Noguera, representing the Vicente Ferrer Foundation.<\/p>\n

The aim of the exhibition is to showcase different realities and experiences of women in sport as a way to highlight the intersectionality of discrimination factors that lead to inequality and the violation of rights. To this end, the exhibition features five testimonies from prominent professional athletes: Ona Carbonell, Paula Leit\u00f3n, Edurne Pasaban, Concha Montaner and Mar\u00eda L\u00f3pez.<\/p>\n

The exhibition highlights the discrimination, challenges, and processes of empowerment and resilience faced by these athletes, serving as an example for future generations and demonstrating that sport can be a tool for social transformation, a way to overcome barriers, and an opportunity to acquire values.<\/p>\n

At 10:30 a.m., following the opening, a panel discussion will be held in the assembly hall of the Arenals building with university athletes Ana Caballero and Vanessa Rubio, as well as gymnasts with disabilities Sara Mar\u00edn and Mar\u00eda D\u00edez, who have recently given their names to the new sports pavilion in Elche. The discussion will be moderated by Ra\u00fal Reina and will address the role of women as role models and leaders in sport, as well as the challenges of balancing academic and professional life, especially in disciplines with less visibility and fewer resources.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
